Just One Day
Its five years today, since you
went away
We honor your memory on Easter Sunday
We celebrate and cherish you throughout the day
Angel baby playing in the mix, thoughts of you linger within
I know you were there, I saw you in the light
Your daughters’ outline, projects an image of you
Her request to just have one more day with you
Just one day, to hold you
We laughed, sang, and dripped some tears in tribute to you
Your husband still misses you; he knows it’s time to go
You show up in his dreams telling him to go his way
This we all know, to marry one more time, only GOD knows
Your memory is engraved deeply in him
Spoke highly of you, he choked and had to walk away
Fate brought us together again; to converse once more
He asked for one day, to say, “I love you”
Just one day, to touch you
Dreams you had, something always snatches you back
Maybe it was never meant to be, you did your best
A need for your children, to complete that vision
Will they resist with conflict, can they progress
Desires of a heart will break the walls down
Prayers to GOD will bless them
Your son is strong and brave
Deeply inside he holds you near
Just one day, he wished you were here
My sister, you cared for me like a mother
I will always value that; you gave us your all
We love you, beautiful as can be
Danced like a pro, always had a great melody
Many friends you had, love was all around
I missed you; I live this day in remembrance of you
This day with your children is like a day, being with you
Just one day, I sat and sang with you.
In memory of my sister EVA
