LULU

Born with the same blood, lived miles apart
You're the eldest; I'm the youngest
Curious as can be, on the day we met
Distanced we stay, peering at each other
I see my true blood standing over there
Something about you, I felt a need to know
Deep inside there was a connection
Alone we understood

The blood in my veins is the same as in yours
Your new family bestowed a good life on you
My family was unseasonable, in their eyes
As adults we were able to share our roots
Two worlds apart we lived, my kin is your.
The kin you knew, treated you distant
The kin I knew was lost in its own battle
Our experiences of life, given us strength
To live in the past, we preferred not

My sister we had just begun
GOD had fulfilled a need for us to be together
A triumph to remember
You were vibrant, and beautiful
A gentle heart, with many friends
That's how I will remember you
Your spirit lives through the children you shaped
To see you in this pause state it is not you
Teardrops from the soul, hardened you to fight
My sister you're a fighter
You fought for your last breath
Heaven waited for you

Your baby, declares we are alike
Knowing you is a blessing
Diverse we lived, was this meant to be?
I never knew our mother, neither had you
Choices of words they inputted in you
Could they cast the first stone?
Compassion no where to be found
Deceived from sisterhood, many years ago
Our mother never wanted it this way
For the GOD in you is the same GOD in me
Division we would never have supported

Today I will say my good-byes
We love you and we will miss you
Our faith is strong; our trust is in the Lord
Knowing that you're with God
We will solace in peace
My memories of you I will treasure
For you are my blood, you are my sister
