I Promise Tomorrow

Tomorrow I will hug you: Tomorrow I will kiss you
I promise tomorrow, I will love you more
Awake today, no time for words, can't be late
I look your way, sleep in; it's your day
No need to touch you, no time to spare
Off to work forevermore
Race though the rush; jump off the bus
Meetings to attend, hurry! get out of my way
Thank you Lord for such a beautiful day
Noise of destruction rings in my ears
Thoughts of you come into view
Too much smoke my vision blurs
Echo's of screams rant the halls
Terror throughout,  I stumble to the ground
Jesus, why this way? My end is near
One last fight, a desire to touch you
One last hug, a crave to kiss you
Intense heat inside
Exhale a whisper of good-byes
Darling I love you
I wish I had another day
Teardrops cool my face
Honey, there's no tomorrow
Oh GOD! I was not promised tomorrow
